Agon is a Chadian artist born in N’Djamena, in the vibrant district of Chagoua. Marked by an early family tragedy, he found refuge and a form of expression in music, allowing him to maintain a bond with his lost brother. Agon blends traditional Chadian sounds with pop and alternative influences. His notable collaborations include works with Afrotronix and Élété, adding an international dimension to his music.
The single “Djongo” is Agon’s second release under his contract with XOL Music. It is a musical fusion of tradition, featuring the traditional Chadian guitar, the guaraya, and modernity, incorporating afrobeat elements. A music video will accompany the release of this single, with a stronger promotional focus on the diaspora.
The song Djongo tells the story of a young man torn between his love for his wife and his family’s expectations. Although his wife does not respect traditions and creates tensions within the household, he remains attached to her, unsure of how to respond to his relatives’ criticism. It is a story about the conflicts between love, family, and tradition.
